(SRN NEWS) – California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom has called for state lawmakers to convene a special session in December. He wants legislation to safeguard unfettered abortion and the LGBT agenda in state policy ahead of the beginning of President Trump’s second term. Governors and lawmakers in other states controlled by Democrats are planning to do the same. Newsom says he wants to preserve California’s status as a destination for women in pro-life states to seek abortions. He also wants to preserve the right of children to undergo sex-change operations.
Five years ago the Satanic Temple here in the United States made headlines when it was designated as a church. Now a similar organization in Chile, a conservative country where half of its population of 18 million identifies as Catholic, is asking the government to recognize it as a religious association. In order to join Chile’s Temple of Satan, applicants must choose a new name — normally that of a demon or fallen angel — with which they will be identified inside the Temple and among other associates. Experts say Chile is suffering a crisis of faith.
Pro-life advocates say they hope some of President Biden’s abortion policies will be revoked once President-elect Donald Trump makes his return to the White House next year. One big concern is Biden’s directive for hospitals to provide emergency abortions for pregnant women in medical distress. Eased access to abortion pills, introduced by the Biden administration, could also be repealed. The pro-life Susan B. Anthony List is hopeful, saying “President Trump’s first-term pro-life accomplishments are the baseline for his second term.”
Pro-family groups are hoping that President Trump will make good on his campaign promises to end President Biden’s promotion of transgenderism. Opposition to transgenderism was emphasized in the closing days of Mr. Trump’s campaign. One of his final ads stated that “Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you.” The Biden administration made transgenderism a priority from day one, filing suit against states that are trying to outlaw sex-change operations on children and keep boys off of girls sports teams and out of their bathrooms.
